"Good Help is Hard to Find!"
by

Getting your business Legal is the
most critical thing you can do if you want to start a truly successful Internet
Business.
Unfortunately, its also probably the most confusing
thing to do without help.
Your ultimate goal in getting legal is obtaining a
Sales Tax ID. Why? Because in about 95% of the States in the US, you cant work
with legitimate Wholesale Distributors without one.
You see, a genuine Wholesale Distributor does not
charge you Sales Tax on the products they sell to your business. Thats because
they know you are going to re-sell those products to your customer, the
Retail Consumer. Sales Tax cant be collected twice. So, the Wholesale
Distributor isnt required to charge the Sales Tax to you.
However, you are required to collect Sales
Tax for your State from your customer.
For that reason, Wholesale Distributors are
required to have proof in their files that anyone they sell to without charging
Sales Tax (you, for example) is licensed to collect that Sales Tax from
the Retail Consumer.
In other words, if you cant prove to the Wholesaler
that you are licensed to collect Sales Tax, the Wholesaler cannot sell to you.
Welcome to the Business World. :o)
To make this little game even more fun, each State,
and most times each County and Town Government, work the process of getting
Legal a bit differently, depending on where you live.
Some States call the Sales Tax ID a Sellers
Permit (California, for example). Some call is a Resale Certificate. Some
bundle it with other paperwork known by different names.
Most States and Counties have web sites where they
claim to publish all the information you need. Some of those sites are so
twisted and disjointed that trying to get any coherent information out of them
makes you feel like someone is wringing your brain out like an old sponge.
Here at Worldwide Brands, Inc., (Publishers of The
Drop Ship Source Directory) our Customer Service department gets emails and
calls asking for help with this process all the time. We help as much as we can,
but its impossible for us to keep track of all the details of all the State and
Local Governments in the US, and what their requirements are.
When I write articles, they are almost always
articles containing general information that I feel will help people in their
Ecommerce businesses. There are very few (very few!) times that I have
ever written an article that talks about just one company, and how I think it
can help you.
This is one of those rare times.
We have recently partnered with Natalie Williams,
creator of a web site called New Online Business.
Ive known of Natalie for a long time; probably well
over a year. I would come across something from one of her Ebusiness web sites
occasionally and think, thats good stuffI should call her and let her know
how much I like her material!
Well, business being what it is (running around with
your hair on fire all the time!) I never did contact Natalie. Thank goodness she
recently contacted me. :o) She asked me to take a look at New Online
Business and see if there was anything there that I thought our site
visitors could benefit from. When I did, I was very happy to have done so.
Natalies site is dedicated to helping new Internet
Businesses get their legal paperwork done quickly and properly, among other
things. Its an excellent site.
Its also our kind of web site. She offers
wonderfully detailed and complete help for a very reasonable fee. However, she
also offers FREE information so that you can do the work yourself without
her help, if you choose to. Its harder and takes longer, of course, but she
tells you how. To us, offering help for free is the mark of a very honest
businessperson.
Her New Online Business site actually helps you at
your local Government level with exactly what you need to get your
business up and running in a completely legal way.
The site also contains a wide variety of other
tools, information and resources for the new business owner.
Thats a tremendous thing; Ive never found this
kind of genuine help anywhere else on the Internet. Its something that I
wish had been available when I first started my own Internet Business, years
ago.
So, the purpose of this particular article is simply
to pass along a resource that has excellent FREE information, and phenomenal
one-on-one help thats very reasonably priced.
Thats something you dont come across every day on
the Internet!
